a-verse-a-book Project

BCCI had this idea a few months ago.  I wanted to help my daughters dig a little deeper in the Bible.  They already know a lot of the stories and we have already read through a couple of Children’s Bibles with them (my new favorite HERE), but I wanted to help them look at the different books of the Bible and understand how each book is uniquely inspired and opens us up to new insights.

Hence the “a-verse-a-book PROJECT”.  I wanted to come up with one verse for each book of the Bible that I could share with them, talk about, and possibly even memorize together.  I wanted each verse to represent something about that specific book, something we could talk about, and something that would stay with them.  Below is my working attempt at it.  I have pulled a verse (some are multiple verses and some are partial verses) from each book of the Bible from the NRSV (still often my go-to choice) and listed them for you to peruse at your leisure.

AND THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN!! I would love for this to be the beginning of a conversation.  I have selected these verses, but do not pretend to think this is the best selection that it could be.  What suggestions do you have?  Any seem an odd choice to you?  Any favorites verses of yours missing?  I would welcome your feedback and comments as I seek to make this list new-and-improved and post an updated version later on …
